I should have been a weatherman.....

For the last week has been nothing on the news except the upcoming impending doom of certain destruction that was to be the winter storm of the decade. first, we said we would be slathered with ice, followed by blanket after blanket of heavy and thick snow. All the local stores had been packed with last week with people buying all the necessities reminiscent of the year 2000 type of panic. In fact, over the last couple of days, part of the newscasts talked about how all the local stores were out of all the necessities like milk and eggs. I told the wife that I'm convinced that lobbyists for the grocery industry are introduced with the national meteorological Society or whatever it's called. I can see them sitting around a table with each other trying to figure out ways to manipulate the general public into buying more goods and I'm sure that every year the only idea that they have the works is the "the Apocalypse is coming in the form of a snowstorm, better stock up a weeks worth of groceries. And while you're at it by the new Capt. Crunch cereal. It's got 50% more crunchberries."

In all other areas around us and even the neighboring states did get a pretty significant amount of bad weather, we didn't really get what they thought would get where I am. But, it was definitely enough to keep me home bound. As a real estate agent, work from home quite a bit. In fact I would probably save 80% of my working time is spent at home, whether it's on the phone or on the computer, it is something I'm used to. However, when there's bad weather involved, I find that I can and see and get a little bit of cabin fever knowing that even if I wanted to, I can go out and look at homes or go to an office. On top of that, I also know that most of the area and most of the people that do business with also are stuck at home, meaning that there's not a lot of work for me to do while I'm sitting here.

I like working from home most of the time. Actually I'm very thankful that I have a job that I have. Most people would think that having a day off and be able to relax and be really nice. I guess on the other side offense whenever it comes to that because I'm sitting here at home almost all the time anyways, and it's incredibly frustrating to be sitting here and want to work but not be able to.

So today I rearranged my office, hoping that that would produce some sort of feeling of productivity, which it did, at least for a few minutes. I spent some time today also looking at new applications for my Ipad that were real estate related. I didn't really find anything new for my Ipad, but I did find a new application for my android phone from realtor.com. I don't know what it is or what it's supposed to do, I just saw it and downloaded it. I'm sure it's just some sort of mobile version of the website.

Last week I listed the home for $5000. That's right, $5000. It's basically a tear down house located on a corner lot. It is so happens that on the same day that elicited, an investor call me an offer $5000 for the property. BOOM! I'm not saying boom because of a commission that I'm going to make. Obviously, I really like the make much money off of it at all. Any excitement I have over this property being sold is over the fact that actually so quickly and I don't have to deal with it for very long. To boot, turns out that the buyer is not going to tear down the property at all. he's actually going to slap a fresh coat of paint on as well as lay down some new carpet and rent it out. pretty interesting what could pass as a rentable properties days.

That's all that I have for right now. Like I said, it's been a slow couple of days. Slow, slow, slow, slow couple of days.
